Tonya Grafton, LMSW

Tonya Grafton is a Licensed Master Social Worker in the state of South Carolina. She holds a Bachelor of Arts degree in Psychology from Winthrop University and a Master of Social Work degree from Louisiana State University. She is a current member of the National Association of Social Workers.

Tonya has experience working with children of all ages in both school and foster care settings. Her professional background in foster care afforded her the opportunity to walk alongside adults as they learned to navigate the complexities of parenting children through a trauma-informed lens, and it was through this experience that she discovered a passion for working with youth
with trauma histories. Tonya is trained in both Trauma-Based Relational Intervention (TBRI) and Together Facing the Challenge (TFTC): two evidence-based approaches to communicating with and relating to youth from trauma backgrounds.

Tonya has a special interest in helping families who are walking through foster care or adoption and will employ a strengths perspective and family systems approach to aid in the transition of becoming a functional family unit. Additionally, Tonya’s personal journey with chronic illness has led her to develop a special interest in working with clients who live with chronic pain.

In her spare time, Tonya can be found spending time with her husband and two adult daughters, reading the latest psychological thriller, or grimacing her way through a pilates class.
